Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma – A Cancer in the Lining of Lungs

Malignant pleural mesothelioma is mesothelioma that starts in the pleural membrane covering the lungs. Pleural is two thin fibrous sheets of tissue that protect the lungs and produce lubricating fluid of the membranes. When cancer cells grow in pleural, the function of this membrane to protect lungs is decreasing that mean lungs will be exposed to danger. Cancer cells also reduce the production of lubricating fluids that make the membrane could not slide smoothly when the lung expand and deflate as we breathe. That will make another issue to lungs. Since the cancer will affect the lungs, the symptoms may similar with lung cancer. However, pleural mesothelioma is different from lung cancer because the cancer is not starting at the lung but in the lining of the lung.Pleural mesothelioma is malignant cancer that means it aggressive and deadly. It could spread quickly and increase mortality in a very short time. In fact, malignant pleural mesothelioma is still incurable to the very day. I
